Who are you really, Chad!?
Hi, I'm Chad—a guy who somehow embodies the internet's idea of a "Chad" while proving there's probably a little more to life than backwards hats and protein shakes (though I do enjoy a good protein bar).
I'm a husband, dad, engineer, systems thinker, founder, and self-aware "bro" navigating life in my early 30s while exploring questions around work, technology, human behavior, fulfillment, and what it actually means to build a meaningful life.
This site is where I think publicly, document ideas, challenge stereotypes, and occasionally wander down rabbit holes involving technology, motivation, AI, Bitcoin, human potential, and yes, the occasional Bigfoot theory.
Personal Story
I grew up in Solvang, California—the Danish capital of the U.S. (I think), despite not being Danish myself. I'm mostly Irish and whatever else Ancestry.com decides to tell me that week.
I studied Graphic Communication at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, minored in Environmental Studies, and somehow ended up earning a master's degree in the incredibly niche field of Printed Electronics and Functional Imaging—which sounds completely made up but isn't.
After school, I spent nearly a decade in research and development engineering helping scale next-generation solar technology. My days revolved around designing experiments, analyzing data, solving manufacturing challenges, and figuring out how complex systems actually work.
Somewhere along the way, I realized I was applying that same systems-thinking mindset far beyond engineering.
I became increasingly fascinated by questions around motivation, autonomy, fulfillment, technology, work, curiosity, and what makes a life feel meaningful. The more I explored those ideas, the more they became less of an interest and more of an ongoing personal pursuit.
Today, I'm a husband, father of two, founder, lifelong learner, and optimistic explorer of what it means to live well in the modern world.
Most of my time is spent building Our.os, writing, learning, spending time with my family, getting outdoors, and following whatever question happens to capture my curiosity next.
As of 2026, life feels wonderfully full. I have a daughter who is growing faster than seems possible, a son rapidly approaching the "can wipe his own ass" milestone, and a business that is very much in the chaotic but exciting stage of being built in real time.
So for now, I'm doing exactly what Cal Poly taught me best:
Learning by doing.
Why This Website Exists
A lot of people keep parts of themselves separated:
Work self
Internet self
Personal self
Creative self
Serious self
I got tired of doing that.
This website became a place where all of those worlds could exist together: engineering, fatherhood, technology, curiosity, philosophy, business ideas, optimism, uncertainty, and the occasional completely unnecessary deep dive into things like Bigfoot or the future of civilization.
It started as a semi-ironic joke.
I kept asking myself:
"What could some bro named Chad realistically add to conversations about life, work, technology, or the future?"
Over time, the joke evolved into something more meaningful.
This became a place to think publicly, challenge stereotypes, document ideas, explore rabbit holes, and share what I'm learning along the way.
Some ideas stay ideas.
Some evolve into something bigger.
Mostly, this site exists because I think more people should feel comfortable exploring ideas publicly before they have everything figured out.
Currently
Building Our.os
Learning how to run a business in real time
Raising two tiny humans
Writing about intentional living, work, and technology
Thinking too much about AI and the future
Trying to spend more time outside
Fun Facts
In college, I worked at a climbing wall, which is cooler than being a barista (no offense to baristas).
I 100% believe in Bigfoot—not as a joke, but as a real, living, breathing species. The evidence is clear!
My go-to karaoke song? You don’t need one when you know how to read a room!
Dream home? The one I’m already in—just smarter, bigger, cleaner, and with a hot tub and a better view.
If Any Of This Resonates...
Feel free to explore the site, read some articles, follow along as I build Our.os, or stick around for the occasional rabbit hole about technology, work, human behavior, and whatever else happens to capture my attention.
Either way, I'm glad you found your way here.
