Introduction – Why this Blog Exists
Here I am, writing the first blog post (maybe the last) of my career, wondering, ‘Why would anyone want to read this? Why even write it? What could I possibly add to the world that hasn’t already been said?’ It’s a bit of a depressing thought—especially for a bro named Chad.
But here’s the thing: every big idea starts small. And maybe this blog is just the start of something bigger than I can imagine right now, or maybe I can imagine it, but I haven’t yet acted on it. This is me acting.

I’ve spent the past eight years working on organic photovoltaic technology—transparent solar panels (windows) that could change the way we power the world. My job is to translate the results from our small-scale R&D process into a manufacturable one via design and analysis of experiments – A.K.A the scientific method. It’s a humbling process because it reminds me that what we think we know is usually wrong or only a small piece of the big picture. You plan based on what little you know, you execute the plan (often not according to it), you gather the data, analyze it to the best of your ability and see where it leads you, then repeat based on what was learned. You take consistent steps towards some truth or goal, but there’s always more to learn.
That’s what this blog is: an experiment. I’m taking the ideas rattling around in my head and trying to turn them into something bigger—something that might inspire others, spark a conversation, or lead to some joint venture — who knows.

Because here’s my truth: I want to make as much of a positive impact on the world as I can. And the best way I know how to do that is by sharing ideas, connecting with like-minded people, and seeing where it leads. Maybe this blog will help me refine my thoughts and find clarity. Or maybe it’ll just be a way to put myself out there and see what happens. Either way, I’m ready to give it a shot, and frankly I’m tired of feeling like I’m waiting for something to happen.
So, welcome to the experiment. If you’ve ever had a big idea or a nagging question you couldn’t shake, stick around. Let’s see what we can build together. And seriously… reach out and don’t be afraid to share ideas. I’m here for you as much as I am for me.
